Day 7- Valdez

Wow wow wow! What else can I say. Went raftin on the Tatshanshini river a few days ago on a daytrip and what a blast that was! Had a great time. We made the drive into McCarthy the other day and the road was in great shape. It used to be the railbed when the copper mine was still in businss there. What a great area. So beautiful. I could live there. Between McCarthy and Kennicott there are maybe 100 people that live there in summer. An acre of land sells for $7,000. Im honestly considering it. hahahaha..... We went on a glacier flight for 50 minutes the first night there and the weather was gorgeous. Took lotsa pictures. The whole group flew... We took a 5 seat Cessna 206 which I was in, a 6 seat 207 and a 172. Something Ill definitely do again. Id love to be able to fly up there. I am in Valdez now. We were given like 10 fillets of salmon today from some fisherman on the Chitina river. We baked it tonight. Yum. Off early tomorrow morning to Seward on an 8 hour ferry ride. We are 3 days there and will be going on a glacier cruise as well. Then off to Anchorage and Denali.
The complaining of he group is a little annoying. They ask me for everything. Where are the knives, where are the bowls, even thought THEY are the ones who packed them all! the van is too hot, the van is too cold. But its all good. Brian tells me this is a GOOD group! Oh well. Still having a good time. I look up into the mountains that I drive through and look at the peaks I would like to camp on.
I wish I was able to download the pictures from my camera onto my photobucket site. But none of the places I have visited so far have been able to do it. Hopefully in Anchorage. But keep an eye out for them.... they will be spectacular.
Thanks for reading!
