Day is getting worse

Ok... so I called Saanich Police... turns out I got the message from my parents wrong. They are not holding interviews, they were just clearing out their applicant folder for dispatch and wanted to know if I was still interested in the job or if they could throw out my application/ resume. I am happy that I get to head home early, but at the sacrafice of not getting any days off now.... not something that I need right now!

"I'm a donkey on the edge!"

Crock of Crap Day

So I call the company... my schedule has changed..... no time off... no going back to Anchorage..... aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh..... the only good news is that I am now done my season on Aug 28. ugh.... I get to Beaver Creek where I will drop off my passengers... Beaver Creek is in the middle of nowhere close to the US border. I then get one day off to clean my van and my gear. Then I drive a few hours the next day to Glennallen and pick up a Midnight Sun Tour group and finish off their 11 day alaska tour. I finish in Whitehorse and then come home. It puts a bit of a cog in the wheel of my plans but not much I can do I guess.... I sure hope I can schedule an interview with Saanich still..... :S

New Pix Posted

Hey everyone!
Sorry I havent updated in a while but trying to find enough time in a place where I have internet access can be difficult. I have posted some new pictures including a pict from my last flight of Denali as well as me kayaking in Prince William Sound, Shoup Glacier/ Valdez and ice climbing in McCarthy. Ice climbing was great.
The group is good although I can honestly say that I am getting tired of the having to answer the same questions every tour a few times a tour. I will just finish telling the group something or giving them instructions when someone comes up to me and asks me again. Im sure some if not all of it is the language barrier, but its annoying all the same. I am glad for all the opportunities that the job has given me tho! Holy crap.... I could NEVER afford a trip including all the optional activities that I have been on. I mean the two flights of Mt Denali alone would have set me back $500 USD!
The weather is good although it is getting close to freezing at night which makes for a cold camp and morning. Tok was smokey again this time as well as Dawson city. Not as bad as last time tho. Im still trying to figure out what to do on my days off- after this tour I will have close to 7 days off! Looking forward to them tho. Ill probably end up hanging out with a friend in Anchorage or maybe go on a camping trip.
Talking to my parents the other day, I got a call from the Saanich Police Department offering me an interview in their Communications Division. I've asked the company to get me home a little bit earlier and it seems like that may work. I just have to see if I can schedule one with the cops now. Not sure if its really what I want to do as a career, but Saanich may work for a couple of years provided its a different work environment from Ambulance Dispatch- staff wise that is.... We shall see. I hope to make it back by the first week of September now.
Well... hope all is well with everyone at home... i think of you all and cant wait to see you soon!
Cheers
